All of our landscape and garden designs are filtered through the concept of sustainability. The construction and maintenance of a beautiful and functional new landscape does not require the conventional sources of irreplaceable natural materials, the consumption of large amounts of fossil fuels and the requirement of continual watering, mulching and fertilizing.

We enjoy the challenge presented to us with each new client. We have the opportunity to merge the client's dreams and unique vision for their garden with sustainable gardening concepts. This provides us the opportunity to educate others and improve our own practices.

Our landscape design service has a strong foundation of listening. We have learned many things during the 25 years that RainHarvest has been creating gardens in the metropolitan area. We will continue to refine and sharpen the design until it is the perfect manifestation of the client?s vision.

The principles that form the foundation of our service are:

Listen to the client. It's all about the client, their desires and wants. It?s not about the designer, their portfolio and ego.

Shepherd the client's dreams from conception, through creation and development and then continue through to maturity of the project.

Be a leader in the process by guiding the client through sharing wisdom, skill and knowledge gleaned during 25 years experience yet be a servant and cater to the client and their needs.

Don?t be timid with creative ideas. It's better to imagine and create large and then scale back if necessary rather than be crippled with timidity and never now what could have been.

Build a team of tradesmen that can provide the premium product which everyone will be proud of. The team that we assemble and lead may include masons, electricians, carpenters, plumbers, nurserymen and others. We're not ashamed to bring onto the team a trusted colleague to do a better job than we may be able to provide in house.
